Driftwood Cove Beach House is located on the south end of Lasqueti Island, the Gulf Island's "best kept secret", about 100 km (60 miles) north
|Lasqueti Island is about 20 km (12 miles) in length and has a year-round population of approximately 300 people. A rural island, Lasqueti is 'off the grid', with no hydro or services; like our homestead, the Beach House is powered by alternate energy, including solar and micro-hydro.|
|Driftwood Cove Beach House is located just above Point Young on Copley Bay. Here the shoreline forms a large, shallow cresent bay, with a sand and pebble beach strewn with driftwood logs. Rock bluffs on either side of the beach make the retreat private and exclusive. A large meadow gives the feeling of openness, while flower gardens and natural flora enrich the landscape.|
The Lasqueti Island ferry, the Centurion VII, is a foot passenger ferry only. It sails from French Creek on Vancouver Island and arrives at False Bay, at the north end of Lasqueti Island. Crossing time is 1 hour.
Driftwood Cove Beach House is about 14 km ( 8.5 miles) down island along Main Road. Pickups or taxi can be arranged, or you can bring a bike on the ferry if you're up to the ride.
varies with the season, but is about $8/adult.

boat - if you're
coming in your own boat, the nearest safe harbour for small boats is Squitty
Bay, just around the point from Driftwood Cove. This small bay can be congested during
the summer months. Pickup from Squitty Bay is free. There is also a mooring
in front for those who wish to keep their boats close-by; this mooring is
suitable for vessels under 24 ft, and only when seas are relatively calm.
